La baie mesure environ 200 miles (320 km) de long depuis son cours supérieur nord dans la rivière Susquehanna jusqu’à son exutoire dans l’océan Atlantique. Il mesure 2,8 miles (4,5 km) de large à son point le plus étroit (entre Plum Point du comté de Kent près de Newtown à l’est et la rive ouest du comté de Harford près de Romney Creek) et 30 miles (48 km) à son plus large (juste au sud de l’embouchure de la rivière Potomac qui sépare le Maryland de la Virginie). Le littoral total, y compris les affluents, est de 11 684 milles (18 804 km), faisant le tour d’une superficie de 4 479 milles carrés (11 601 km2). La profondeur moyenne est de 21 pieds (6,4 m), atteignant un maximum de 174 pieds (53 m).[5] La baie est enjambée deux fois, dans le Maryland par le pont de la baie de Chesapeake de Sandy Point (près d’Annapolis) à Kent Island et en Virginie par le pont-tunnel de la baie de Chesapeake reliant Virginia Beach à Cape Charles.

Updates!  I have started to repair the interior cabin roof, as well as strengthen the molded cabin floors by adding additional glass.

I also drilled out and filled the damaged screw holes that hold the teak rails on deck.

Using G10 fiberglass board, I created some mounting plates for the winches.

using smaller pieces of g10, I have strengthened the chain plates inside and out.

Last night I finished the first layer of glass over the balsa core roof!   today I sand it down and apply coat #2, and then it will be pretty much finished.

Hey all, Thanks for the encouragement, been working hard trying to get things finished as the weather warms up!

I also stepped on my phone… so I am waiting on a replacement! I have a couple of pics of my most recent project, a DIY battery box for some Lithium Ion Phosphate battery cells,  which I built from 1/8″ thick by 1″ angled aluminum, 1/4″ acrylic.  All held together with 1/4  » SS threaded rod, lock nuts and washers.  I used 1/8″ copper bar for connectors for the negative terminal to the BMS (battery management system), and used 6, 8, and 2 AWG wires.  I had to learn a lot about wiring, shrink wrap, etc. etc.!

I used thickened Epoxy to connect the aluminum to the acrylic, after scuffing them both up well with 80 grit sandpaper.
