Je prévois de monter le mât Edel 4 à l’avenir. Combien pèse le mât ? Si le mât est articulé à la base habituelle et dépasse de la poupe, pourrai-je le soulever en me tenant à la poupe ? Plus je peux soulever le mât haut de cette façon, moins j’ai besoin de force pour continuer à le soulever jusqu’au bout.

la plus grande force pour soulever le mât est lorsqu’il est horizontal. Si le mât n’est pas trop lourd, je pourrais peut-être marcher de l’arrière vers l’avant et aussi soulever le mât. Si je peux lever le mât pour que la hauteur soit à plus de 3 mètres dans les airs, je peux utiliser le treuil du bateau et une corde pour le soulever complètement. les 20 derniers degrés, vous pouvez le pousser sans treuil. Tout cela dépend du fait que le mât n’est pas trop lourd. Je n’ai eu aucun mal à le faire sur un McGregor 26. J’achète le bateau le mois prochain.
It’ll be hard to do as you say. You need a support at the stern, the mast can’t be totally horizontal when plugged in the mast step (the roof is too high for that and is in the way). So you need a support which is quite high (mine is more than 2m long), high enough to not be able to reach the mast. Plus, there is a huge step between the cockpit and the roof.
What is decribed in the blog, is probably the best way to mast an Edel. Using the whisker pole is of great help !
The mast is not light, but not heavy either, I can handle it alone. I don’t know how much it weights though.

A 160 mm wide mast 9+ metres long might weigh 30kg. Of couse there are other things attached, but even if the lifted weight is 60kg this will mean I should be able to raise it myself and the higher I can raise it the easier it becomes to winch it into place
